5. Phase I What to expect  TCSS contractor will install entrance conduits for Bellsouth access of the fiber optic cable.  Equipment Racks will be installed where needed to house equipment.  Some schools will be retrofitted with new equipment locations and/or have extensions of new service routed to existing LAN equipment.

7. Phase II What to expect  TCSS Maintenance department will upgrade electrical and grounding to new network equipment D-Marc points as necessary.  TCSS IT Dept. will install and terminate district supplied fiber optic cable to all schools that require D-Marc extensions.  TCSS IT Dept will install or upgrade existing LAN equipment and switches to handle fiber optic handoff from Bellsouth.

9. Phase III What to expect  Bellsouth contractor will trench or run aerial fiber optic cable to the school.  Bellsouth contractor will route fiber optic cable through the entrance conduits previously installed by TCSS contractor.  Bellsouth cable specialist will terminate fiber optic cable.  Bellsouth equipment engineers will install fiber control equipment and Cisco routers.

10. Phase IV  Bellsouth engineers and TCSS IT staff will work to configure equipment to route traffic across the fiber network.  Testing phase will run for 24-hours and switch over will take place following successful test of all equipment.  Removal of old WAN connection equipment and routers.  School will now be fully operational on the new Fiber Optic Wide Area Network.
