2. UBL Plenary Meeting Nov3-7,2003 － 2 － BackGround We (Japanese) are very interested in the UBL and OASIS’ activities. But when we try to participate in these activities, there are some barriers. The language barrier is the most difficult issue as it interferes with our understanding. To facilitate easer participation in the UBL-TC, we need to set up the Japanese Localization Sub Committee(JLSC). Forming the JLSC, where we can converse in Japanese, is the most suitable way to promote the UBL and OASIS’ activities in Japan.

Diffusion of the UBL and OASIS’ activities into the Japanese market. 3.Implementation of the UBL in the Japanese market with modification to accommodate local business practices and local laws.
