3 Overview of the changes
Phasing out the IIA Diploma and replacing it with the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Phasing out the IIA Advanced Diploma and replacing it with the Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL) Chartered Internal Auditor status (CMIIA) will remain and it will be awarded by completing the three QIAL exams Continued support for PIIA and CMIIA New tuition programmes for the CIA and QIAL

Existing students can choose to: Complete your current qualification and then choose whether to accept the CIA and/or credit towards the QIAL Complete your current module(s) and then switch to the new qualification Begin new modules of your existing qualification, pass these and then switch over Stop studying your existing qualification and switch over immediately (from 22 June)

5 Transition for IIA Diploma students
Factors to take into account when deciding how to proceed: The credit(s) you will earn for completed modules (see later slide) If you switch from the IIA Diploma to the CIA you will earn the CIA designation, not the PIIA If you complete the IIA Diploma you can then accept the CIA and use both designations if you choose You will likely need to hold the CIA if you intend to continue your studies to become chartered (via the QIAL qualification) CIA holders must comply with IIA Global’s CPE requirements to report 40 hours of education each year

6 Transition for IIA Diploma students
The CIA comprises three exams. If you have already passed modules for the IIA Diploma then you can claim credit (exemption) from parts of the CIA. Credit for IIA Diploma modules passed: There is no charge for claiming credits(s). Modules passed Credit may be claimed for P1, P2 and P4 CIA part 3 P3 CIA part 2 P3 and P5 CIA part 1

When you transition to the CIA: There is no qualification registration fee to pay Tuition is not compulsory but recommended and available from September You can buy access to the CIA Learning system and study materials for just the parts you need Exams are taken at over 100 Pearson Vue centres nationwide and you can choose a day to suit you

Existing students can choose to: Complete your current qualification and then choose whether to accept the QIAL (existing or recent HIA experience required), or credit towards it (no HIA experience) Complete your current module(s) and then switch to the new qualification Begin new modules of your existing qualification, pass these, and then switch over Stop studying your existing qualification and switch over immediately (from 22 June)

The QIAL comprises three exams, a presentation and panel interview. If you have already passed modules for the IIA Advanced Diploma then you can claim credit (exemption) from parts of the QIAL. Credit for IIA Advanced Diploma modules passed: There is no charge for claiming credits(s). Modules passed Credit may be claimed for M1 QIAL case study 2 M3 QIAL case study 1

Two options when you take the QIAL: Achieve chartered status (CMIIA) Complete the three case study exams and PEJ Achieve CMIIA and the QIAL Complete a presentation and panel interview

12 Transition for IIA Advanced Diploma students
When you transition to the QIAL: There is no qualification registration fee to pay Tuition is not compulsory but recommended and available from September Exams are taken at over 100 Pearson Vue centres nationwide and you can choose a day to suit you within the QIAL exam windows: February, June and October
