Vets diagnose and treat diseases and dysfunctions of animals.
Vets that work to food animals or horses usually drive to ranches or farms to provide vet services for herds or individual animals.
Vets working in research use sophisticated lab equipment.

Vets must graduate with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from a 4-year program at an accredited college of veterinary medicine.
Applicants without a degree have a difficult task in gaining admittance.
Most vet medical colleges also require some courses such as: English or literature, other humanities, and the social sciences.
