10 Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction November 2005 Wisconsin Quality Educator Initiative License Requirements Initial Educator Successfully completed an approved program 5-year non-renewable license This initial educator is supported by a mentor and professional development team: –Higher education representative –Administrator –Peer Professional development plan

11 Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction November 2005 Wisconsin Quality Educator Initiative License Requirements Professional Educator 5-year renewable license granted for showing growth in 2 or more WI Educator Standards Supported by a professional development team Professional development plan verification

12 Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction November 2005 Wisconsin Quality Educator Initiative Master Educator Voluntary 10-year renewable license available by documenting mastery of the WI Educator Standards, including evidence of improved student learning OR The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification
