7 CARE-ASAS Action PlanCARE Briefing Session - January 20007 Call for Interest Calls for Interest are issued after a decision from the Eurocontrol R&D Review Group The aim is to gather Organisations working on a CARE-ASAS activity The work is funded by the budget of the participating Organisations The first tasks are to elaborate an agreed work plan and to define a working structure And then to produce the activity deliverables

8 CARE-ASAS Action PlanCARE Briefing Session - January 20008 Call for Tender 1/2 Calls for Tender for activities are issued after a decision from the Eurocontrol R&D Review Group Calls for Tender for work-packages within an activity are issued after a decision from the CARE- ASAS Action manager The aim is to select an Organisation or a Consortium to achieve the work and to provide the deliverables identified within the activity or the work-package The work is funded by the CARE budget

9 CARE-ASAS Action PlanCARE Briefing Session - January 20009 Call for Tender 2/2 Calls for Tender will be issued following the Eurocontrol Standards Replies shall include: –a technical proposal –a financial proposal –a management plan CARE is a co-operative initiative: –Replies by Consortium are preferable (more than one Organisation) –Within a Consortium a leader shall be identified

19 CARE-ASAS Action PlanCARE Briefing Session - January 200019 FAA/Eurocontrol Action Plan 1 R&D co-operation between the FAA and Eurocontrol Action Plan 1 is dedicated to ASAS The objectives are : –to promote a mutual understanding on ASAS –to identify areas for practical co-operation on the development of ASAS –to examine the longer term issues related to the advanced capabilities of air and ground equipment Strong co-ordination between CARE-ASAS and Action Plan 1 will be maintained

20 CARE-ASAS Action PlanCARE Briefing Session - January 200020 Concluding Remarks Activity 1 is to be launched through a call for tender Activity 2 & 3 are launched through calls for interest Success will depend on Organisations involvement –provision of internal resources to support co-operation and to progress the work –replies to the various calls –impact on internal R&D projects CARE is a challenging initiative –See you next year to assess the results
