2 About Alexandar Graham  About Alexandar Graham :Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland March 3, 1847 – August 2, 1922 was a scientist, inventor and the person who is created the first telephone. As a young boy he was always interested and curious about new inventions.. Bell married Mabel Hubard (1857– 1923) at the Hubbard estate in Cambridge.

4 History of Phones .The first phones created in 1870, a man named Alexandar Graham. .In 1879 at the age of 29 he Graham created the first phone. .It took him about 2 months for the first phone to ever be created.

5 First Thought . In the early 20 th century people saw the first attempts of mobile, and wireless telephony. .In Europe, radio telephony was first used on the first class passenger train.

6 How it Began. .The first cellular phone was the culmination of efforts began at Bells Labs. .In October 1983, Bob Barnett, former president of a telephony company place the first commanded call on DynaTAC.

7 Ways that phones have progressed.

8 1844-1875  1844-The first idea of speaking telegraph was first invented.  1854-telephone receiver and transmitter.  1861-Johann Philipp Reis transfer voice electrically over a distance of 340 feet.  1872- Professor Vanderwyde shows Reis's telephone in New York.  1875-Alexander Graham transmits the sound of a plucked steel using electromagnet instruments.

9 1876-1878  1876-Elisha Gray invents a type of liquid transmitter for use with a telephone. But doesn’t make it.  1877-A telephone line connects the workshop of Charles Williams, Jr., located in Boston to his house in Somerville, Massachusetts where Alexander Graham and Thomas Watson had previously experimented with their telephone. The telephones  1878-Thomas Edison shows the telephone between Menlo Park, New Jersey and Philadelphia a distance of 210 km.

10 1879-1919  1879-The Bell Telephone Company is near bankruptcy.  1889-AT&T becomes the overall holding company for all the Bell companies  1899-American Bell Telephone Company is purchased by its own long-distance subsidiary.  1919-AT&T conducts more than 4,000 measurements of people's heads to gauge the best dimensions of standard headsets.

11 1920-1963  1927-first public trans-Atlantic telephone call via radio  1935-first telephone call around the world.  1946-first commercial mobile phone call.  1958-Modems used for direct connection via voice phone lines.  1963-first publicly-available push-button telephone was released.

12 1970-1999  1970-first ESS-2 electronic switch  1978-Bell Labs launched a trial of the first commercial cellular network in Chicago.  1982-FCC approved AT&T proposal for AMPS) and allocated frequencies
