What were Thomas Edison inventions? Thomas Edison filed over a thousand patents for various inventions like: Thomas Edison filed over a thousand patents for various inventions like: - Light Bulb - Electrical vote recorder - first electric generator - paraffin paper - electric pen - electric chair

How did Thomas Edison made the light bulb? The inventor Thomas Alva Edison (in the USA) experimented with thousands of different filaments to find just the right materials to glow well and be long-lasting. In 1879, Edison discovered that a carbon filament in an oxygen-free bulb glowed but did not burn up for 40 hours. Edison eventually produced a bulb that could glow for over 1500 hours.

How did Thomas Edison became an inventor? Born in Milan, Ohio Edison lost much of his hearing at a young age and had very little schooling. He sold candy and newspapers to railroad passengers and set up a small lab for electrical experiments in a baggage car. Electricity in his time was mainly telegraphy and since he was around railroad stations where this took place it was natural for him to make telegraphy his life work. In 1868 he arrived in Boston where he became a full time inventor. The electrical shop of Charles Williams catered to inventors so it gave him ( Bell as well) a place to work with skilled workmen to put his ideas into practice In 1869 Edison moved to New York and in the next 20 years he and his workmen came up with invention after invention. His workshops invented the quadruplex telegraph, carbon button telephone transmitter, phonograph, electric light and a system of electrical generation and distribution More than a 1,000 patents bore name although most were not made by him personally. In Menlo Park, New Jersey he created a research and development center staffed with brilliant technicians and trained theoretical scientists.

About Thomas Edison   Thomas Edison was the great genius inventor of the electrical age. His hundreds of inventions made him a giant public figure in American and around the world at the turn of the 20th century. Among Edison's most famous inventions are the first practical long-lasting light bulb and the phonograph; he also helped refine and develop other inventions like motion picture cameras, the stock ticker and the typewriter. By the end of his life Edison had registered 1093 patents and had made millions from his inventions and the businesses he built on them. He is especially known for his work with electricity, and the story of his struggles to find the right filament for the first working light bulb are legendary. Edison's labs were located in Menlo Park, New Jersey, leading to his nickname of "The Wizard of Menlo Park." Edison is also famous for being a dogged worker: he often slept no more than four hours per night and made the famous statement, "Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration."

Why our group like Thomas Edison inventions  Our group like Thomas Edison Light bulb invention because: - If we don’t have light bulb, we are living in darkness now. - If we don’t have light bulb, we are living in darkness now. - And if we don’t have light, we can’t study. - And if we don’t have light, we can’t study.

What are the attitude and values of the inventor? - We like the way he persevere while making his invention.  He is also an open-minded.

Why our group find Thomas Edison interesting?  Thomas Alva Edison is one of the most highly regarded American inventors whose creations helped to enhance the lives of people. He was born in Milan, Ohio. As a child, Thomas Edison was a dreamer. Experimenting and reading were his favorite pastimes. Here’s a look at many more of these interesting facts on Thomas Edison. Facts on Thomas Edison: Some of Thomas Edison’s first inventions include an electric vote recorder and a stock ticker. When Thomas was nine years old, he received a book on physics. Even then, Thomas Edison did not believe all the experiments until he tested it himself. Did you know that Thomas Edison was partially deaf? He developed this problem in his childhood days. He is also the inventor of the phonograph and the long lasting light bulb.
