4 Serial Communication

5 Handshaking Signal

6 Synchronous, Iso-synchronous and Asynchronous Communication Synchronous: A byte or a frame of the data is transmitted or received at constant time interval with uniform phase differences. Bits of a data frame are sent in a fixed maximum time interval. In Iso-synchronous communication, the maximum time interval can be varied. Asynchronous: Bytes need not maintain a constant phase difference and are asynchronous, Bytes or frames can be sent at variable time intervals
