8 MESA Engineering Program (MEP) Assist educationally disadvantaged and first-generation college students attain degrees in math, engineering and science from four-year institutions. MEP strongly encourages participation of students stemming from groups with historically low participation rates in college admissions. 8

10 Silicon Valley Engineering Scholarship $851,000 offered since 2002 Scholarship, $5,000 per year. Funded by Applied Materials, Solectron, Lam Research, National Semiconductor, Xilinx, Cisco, etc.
