The reason why they went to the west indies as well as America is because a white man was in charge of the west indies. Music played a very important in the slaves life and the reason is that it was a way of life and to express their unhappiness. The thing that made Africa slaves life's horrible was by sailing in ships and sold to work on farms with no break.
