All Ancient Egyptian Gold belonged to the pharaoh. Any gold in the hands of other Egyptians had been passed down or sold to them by the Pharaoh.

Egyptians often went barefoot without any shoes on at all. Although, they would occasionally wear sandals given to them as pay for their work.

 Because Egyptians valued cleanliness, they bathed in water from the Nile at least once a day, although priests were expected to bathe 4 times a day. They bathed by having servants pouring buckets of water on them.

Clothing in Egypt was mostly based on comfort because of the hot climate. Men often wore kilts that reached the knee. Also, both men and women loved jewelry and wore as much as they could afford.

 In Egypt, jewelry had meanings of luck and religion. Amulets were worn in life and after death because they were believed to have special powers to protect bodies from evil.
