1 All-Family Participation Rate Family TypeCore RequirementsTotal Requirements Single parent with a child under the age of six An average of 20 hours a week x 4.3 weeks a month= 86 hours monthly All other families except teen parent families An average of 20 hours a week x 4.3 weeks a month= 86 hours monthly An average of 30 hours a week x 4.3 weeks a month= 129 hours monthly The participation rate includes all families with at least one work-eligible parent Two-parent families must have at least one of the parents participating in the minimum required hours to be included in the numerator of the all-family rate. These hours must be reported in the data entry system

2 Two-Parent Family Participation Rate Family TypeCore RequirementsTotal Requirements Two-parent family not receiving federal funded subsidized childcare An average of 30 hours a week x 4.3 weeks a month= 129 hours monthly An average of 35 hours a week x 4.3 weeks a month= 150.5 (151) hours monthly Two-parent family receiving federal funded subsidized childcare An average of 50 hours a week x 4.3 weeks a month= 215 hours monthly An average of 55 hours a week x 4.3 weeks a month= 236.5 (237) hours monthly The two-parent family participation rate only includes families with two work-eligible parents Two-parent families where one parent has a medical limitation lasting greater than 30 days recorded on the data entry system (as a deferral) will not be included in the two- parent family participation rate

3 Teens Without A High School Diploma or GED Teens without a high school diploma are treated different for inclusion in the numerator of both rates Teen parents without a high school diploma or GED A teen is engaged if (s)he participates in secondary education program satisfactorily or education directly related to employment for 86 hours monthly An equal opportunity employer/program.
