7 A Business Supply Chain is… A Supply Chain is a network of entities involved in the production and sale of a product. OR A Supply Chain is the total sequence of business processes, within a single or multiple enterprise environments, that enable customer demand for a product or service to be satisfied. 8 A Talent Supply Chain is… A Talent Supply Chain is a network of learning resources involved in the education and growth of an existing or future employee. OR A Talent Supply Chain is the total sequence of learning processes, within a single or multiple educational environments, that enable business demand for an existing or future employee to be satisfied. Florida’s Talent Supply Chain is a system of resources and infrastructure that prepare people on a life long basis to advance the needs of enterprises of all scales, sizes and sectors. Like other Supply Chains, excellence is achieved through customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, reliability, foresight and seamless coordination and process improvement among and between all participants in the chain. In Florida, people are the participant-owners in the chain, by exerting their transformative abilities to learn, apply knowledge and create wealth. 14 Next Steps for Talent Supply Chain Team Outreach to formative Talent Supply Chain Team members Build agendas and solidify meeting schedule Develop communication and collaboration approach Begin research into private sector supply chain methodology and process improvement This will not be a slow burning fuse! An aggressive plan of action is in place to develop a “national first” Talent Supply Chain Transformation.
