1 Getting to know your Eastside HOG Board: 20 Questions with Cathy Tracey 8) What ride do you look forward to every year and why? The first ride to the park and ride in the spring to practice my stopping and turning (I do more than one, but this one I look forward too). I do this every year because the class instructor stressed how my life depends on practicing my skills. The lesson stuck. Practicing there reminds me of my learning process, and how I started. 9) What Harley model would you buy next and why? I think back and forth about a Deluxe or a Heritage, not sure what I’ll end up with. 10) Who's the most famous person you've met? Two! I have a picture of me with Mario Andretti when he came to our work for a promotional event. Also I met Geoff Bodine on the High Seas Rally and have a picture of us together. Both men seem to be very gracious people. 11) Who's the one person you would like to meet & why? My first grandchild is due in April, need I say more? 12) Who do you admire the most and why? My Dad. He was just inducted into the Bothell High School Hall of Fame this year. He built the Bothell High School gymnastics program up over his years of teaching and coaching, and had a number of championship teams. I did not realize he influenced the lives of so many young men and women over the years until recently when I assisted the school with the event. I received so many wonderful letters and emails from his gymnasts, each letter reflected on how they looked up to my Dad and how he changed their lives. It is truly amazing that he changed the course of so many young people, I’m extremely proud of him and happy that he has been honored this way. 13) What do you want to be doing in 5 yrs? Spending more time with my family and friends and less time working for a living! 14) Besides riding motorcycles, what are your other hobbies? I like to golf, hike, and wine taste. I also crochet. I like to try new things. In the past year I had a free lesson in curling, went ski diving, and also went sailing once. (Continued Next Page) 15) What don't most people know about you? A couple of things…1) I’m a Gemini, and all that being a Gemini implies, there are times I feel very social, and times I don’t mind being alone; and 2) I give to United Way. I was my company’s United Way Loaned Executive for the 2004 drive. I’m a firm believer in helping the community, even in some small way, everything adds up. 16) What gets you fired up (angry)? Life is too short to be angry, and it isn’t an attractive trait. I avoid it at all costs! 17) What relaxes you (puts you at ease)? Having a glass of white wine and sitting in the sun shine! (Preferably on a lawn chair nearby a lake or beach) 18) If you could, what non-living person would you like to have a conversation with and why? I’d like to ask my Grandmother(s) about what it was like when she was growing up, and about some of her own memories. I see pictures and wonder a lot about what they were like as children. 19) What's your biggest mistake? I try not to remember my mistakes after I learn from them. Now I listen to my gut instincts and follow them no matter what. But, my Dad let me drive the family car while up in the mountains once when I was about 14. Let’s just say it got stuck. Lucky for me I have great parents, the car was fine, and I didn’t get grounded. But I did get driving lessons after that! 20) If you could, what one message would you like to communicate to the world? Be kind to each other! It will really make a difference! 1) How would friends in high school describe you? There were two of us with the same first and last name, they called me the skinny Cathy. 2) Give us your Favorites Movie: The Last Mohican Bike Movie: Wild Hogs - of course! Book: Most of Dean Kootz’s work Vacation Spot: Any sunny warm beach with soft sand Actor: Gosh too many to choose from – but Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford are talented. Food Dish: Copper River Salmon Athlete: Kathy Rigby and Peggy Fleming Sport: Gymnastics or Ice Skating Musician: too many good ones to name a favorite, but I like Jazz and Country Song: Brown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison TV Show: Chuck TV Bike Show: I don’t watch too much tv so wouldn’t know the bike shows..but I’ve watched a few motocross races when I see they are on. Day of the week: Saturday 3) If you could have a life mulligan (do over) what would it be? I would have spent more time with my parents when I was in my 20’s. 4) What model was your first Harley 2006 H-D® XL 883L Sportster® 5) Why Harley and not another motorcycle brand. I was influenced. I rode 2-up on one for awhile, and I like wearing jeans and also the smell of leather. 6) Of all the rides you've taken, which one stands out the most and why? I love the North Cascades Highway 20 over to Winthrop. It’s beautiful. The little islands in Diablo Lake from the viewpoint are such an oasis. Someday I want to rent a kayak and go visit them. 7) What one ride do you want to take before you lower your kick stand for the last time? I’d like to ride around Florida and down to Key West. 8) What ride do you look forward to every year and why? The first ride to the park and ride in the spring to practice my stopping and turning (I do more than one, but this one I look forward too).
