1 Day 1: Invitation to Notice Kinds of Sentences
Copy the following sentences in your notebook. Write down what you notice about them. Hint: Think about the purpose of each sentence. The Prince and Princess were so unhappy. 2 Day 1: Invitation to Notice cont.
Each of this week’s sentence has a different purpose: Declarative: makes a statement, ends with a period The Prince and Princess were so unhappy. Interrogative: asks a question, ends with a question mark Can you believe it? I mean who in his right mind would build a house of straw? Imperative: gives a command or makes a request, ends with a period Get off from that thing…It’s time to go home. Exclamatory: shows strong emotion, ends with an exclamation point You make me sick, Richard Barber!

3 Day 3: Invitation to Imitate

5 Day 4: Invitation to Identify
Number your notebook page from #1-6. Write “declarative,” “interrogative,” “imperative,” or “exclamatory” next to each number to identify the sentences below. 1.
