3 Frege Furthered his education at the university of Jena in the spring of 1869 as a citizen of the North German Confederation. In four semesters of his studies, he attended about 20 courses of lectures and most were on mathematics and physics. In 1871, Frege furthered his studies in Gottingen, which was the leading university in mathematics in German speaking places. In 1873, Frege got his doctorate under Ernst Christian Julius Schering, with a paper on a geometrical Representation of Imaginary Forms in a Plane. which was meant to solve fundamental problems in geometry.

4 Frege invented quantified variables, which eventually became present in mathematics and logic, and which solved the problem of multiple generality. He created the Begriffsschrift, which was A Formal Language for Pure Thought Modeled on Arithmetic.

5 In 1879, Frege Developed first-order predicate calculus, which was a difficult before hand requirement to developing theory.
