If you have not joined, what has kept you from joining? 3.What is the current stated mission of FFBC? 4.What are the strengths of FFBC? 5.What are the weaknesses of FFBC? 6.What are your three (3) most memorable moments/events at FFBC? 7.What example can you share of how God has blessed FFBC? 8.Have you ever been unhappy or disappointed at FFBC? If so, what made you feel that way about events at the church? 9.Are there some issues in the past at FFBC that continue to shape the thoughts and feelings of the congregation? In what way? 10.What events, people, programs, or attributes has God used to sustain and grow the fellowship of FFBC over that past 50 years? How do these relate to the next 50 years? 11.What can FFBC do to strengthen its evangelism, discipleship, and church growth ministries? Please be specific. 12.Is there something we should know that we have not asked for? If so, what is it?

7 HISTORY BLESSINGS & STRENGTHS From 1959 Jesus as focal point - God’s Word Worship – Music, Preaching, Teaching, Prayer, Options Walk by Faith - All things are possible thru Christ Loving & Warm fellowship – Invitation open Music has been & is outstanding Children & Youth major component, VBS – Pre-School God called many Youth to full time service Stewardship is major component of Church Missions have also been important element Blessed with location, facilities, equipment, resources Blessed with people of many talents 1,2,6,7,8,10

8 STATUS NEEDS - WEAKNESS Need for strong pastoral leadership Need for Men’s & Young Adult Ministry - single & married Division over worship – style, time, methods, etc. Pettiness, gossip, lack of focus, technology use, etc. Unresolved disagreements / issues Need Consistent Leadership – staff, lay, members all levels Focus on Jesus, revival, discipleship, training Need more effective communication – internal & external Continuity of service times Outreach 3,4,5,8,9,11

9 ISSUES Misguided Focus – Self Centered versus Christ Centered – Comments from questions 5, 8, 9 illustrate this point Lack of Leadership at all levels – Comments from questions 3, 5, 8, 9, 11 & 12 show this Poor Communications – Not clear and consistent – Comments from questions 5, 8, 11 & 12

10 Heritage Action Plan The following actions are recommended to address the issues identified during the Heritage Focal Point: Conduct a Spiritual Healing and Revival Period at FFBC Implement specific steps to resolve the issues

11 Spiritual Healing & Revival Period The following actions are recommended to promote spiritual healing: Pastoral Staff: Address one issue on a weekly basis. Sermons should illustrate biblical way to deal with the specific issue of the week. Music should support the sermon. Congregation: Use the prayer calendar daily. At a specified time, individuals or families are asked to read the daily verse and pray about it and for church healing. Congregation: During one specific week, the Pastor will preach on Matthew 18. A request from the pulpit will be made to use Matthew 18 to resolve differences between church members. Deacons: Send a letter to members that have left. ***This period will end with a celebration event on 7 April!

12 Issues Resolution Issue 1: Misguided Focus – Immediate Actions: Sermons FFBC leaders and congregation must covenant to consistently seek to build peace within the church in a biblical manner – Mid Term Actions: Mission Focal Point Ministry Fair and the joining of mission activities for Christ – Long term: Discipleship training plan

14 Issues Resolution Issue 3: Poor Communication – Immediate Actions: Sermons FFBC must covenant to communicate effectively with the congregation. – Mid Term Actions: Sunday church announcements email and posted on the church website Business meeting agendas should be published 48 hours before meetings All business meeting minutes shall be published within a week Establish an external communication plan – Long term: Update FFBC Constitution
