1 Mission 2015 Presentation General Aims For people of all ages to be impacted by the gospel and for some to make a personal commitment to Christ To see an increase in attendance at all services To extend to outsiders a warm welcome when they attend church ensure their experience of worship is positive and encouraging 1

2 Mission 2015 Presentation General Aims That our children and young people will grow in their knowledge and love of God and experience Christ in a personal way. The church body will have an increasing awareness of how they can respond to and serve the local community beyond the church family Members of the church will be encouraged in their faith and have a greater desire to serve God. 2

8 2015 Mission Presentation Worship Action Plan Objective 2 To enhance pastoral care over the wider church family Actions: Form and train a lay Pastoral Visiting Team to compliment the pastoral work of the clergy. 8

9 2015 Mission Presentation Worship Action Plan Objective 2 Actions Identify issues for the Pastoral Visiting Team to address e.g. following up families who have had a child baptized recently and inviting the parents to church or other activities, or visit those who have stopped coming to church, or are coming infrequently. 9

11 2015 Mission Presentation Worship Action Plan Actions: Facilitate more youth participation at the 9.45, and 7pm services. Participation could include praying, reading, speaking, personal testimony and music. Introduce more creativity and variety in the services. This might include having more visiting speakers. 11

13 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan Objective 1 To engage, support and connect adult parent/carer attendees at our weekly Pre- School Praise (PSP) morning with the Christian life of the church. 13

14 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan - Actions To establish a team or equip current staff with suitable training to provide informal listening and prayer for attendees, with signposting to other professional services where appropriate. To address needs of attendees by inter alia holding a series of c. four information evenings over the course of the year on topics relevant and helpful to those attending PSP (e.g. family and parenting, marriage and relationships, special needs). 14

15 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan To establish greater contact with the church family through transition to Sunday morning MiniZone, and through promoting relevant church events at PSP. 15

16 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan Objective 2 To address the immediate needs of the poorest in our community by developing the existing support (weekly donations received) for Storehouse North Down, particularly to provide emergency supplies to households in Holywood. 16

17 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan Actions To establish teams to sort and stack donations, collate goods and prepare hampers for recipient households To establish a smaller team (for continuity) to deliver hampers directly to recipient households within the Holywood area to assist the current distributors. 17

18 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan Actions To work with Storehouse North Down and partner churches in Holywood and third party organizations e.g. CAP, to provide a series of information evenings addressing key needs of recipient households as already identified by Storehouse managers: inc. budgeting, cookery. 18

19 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan Objective 3 To train and equip the church body to pray for those outside the church and to provide prayer outside the church. 19

20 2015 Mission Presentation Community Action Plan - Actions To provide all church members with basic training through teaching, study, fellowship group resources in prayer ministry and use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as essential tools for building the kingdom and church and blessing the community. To identify and establish a place of prayer outside the church grounds where prayer is offered freely to members of the public by a trained prayer ministry team. 20

21 2015 Mission Presentation Children Action Plan Objective 1 To strengthen the Minizone and Kidzone Leaders Team through opportunities for fellowship and training. To train and disciple the younger volunteers To take advantage of externally oraganised training opportunities for Minizone and Kidzone leaders and volunteers. 21

22 2015 Mission Presentation Children Action Plan Actions Two meetings to be arranged per term for Team fellowship and training External training opportunities are researched and leaders and volunteers informed and encouraged to attend. 22

23 2015 Mission Presentation Children Action Plan Objective 2 a) To celebrate the progress of children in the Sunday Kids Programme b) To give parents a flavor of the teaching content and c) To encourage PSP parents to start coming to the Family Service and involve their children in Minizone 23

24 2015 Mission Presentation Children Action Plan Actions Have a transition party to celebrate all the children transitioning in the Kids’ Programme. Invite parents, including the PSP parents and children. Create and give out a ‘Welcome Pack’ to PSP parents whose children are the age for Minizone. 24
