2 2 Racial Economic Inequality: Past and Present  The NAACP Economic Department aims to educate around the realities and histories of racial economic inequality, recommend practical policy solutions and mobilize individual and community action.

Ensure that government and industry are knowledgeable, and committed to bridging racial inequality particularly as it relates to employment, wealth, lending and business ownership. Grow a movement of concerned citizens and organizations who work together to produce an inclusive and strong middle class economy for the 21 st century.

10 10 Diversity and Inclusion Gateway to Leadership Gateway to Leadership: A n internship program the NAACP cosponsors designed to show minority students that there are opportunities for them at investment and financial service firms and to showcase these students to employers. Diversity and Opportunity Report Diversity and Opportunity Report: Will regularly analyze the economic opportunities in different important sectors of the economy. These reports will examine the current state of diversity and inclusion, as well as highlight the areas where there is the greatest economic opportunities. NAACP Job Fairs & NAACP JobFinder: NAACP Job Fairs & NAACP JobFinder: Connects employment seekers with reputable companies searching for professional and qualified employees.

11 11 COMMUNITY ECONMIC DEVELOPMENT The NAACP promotes racial equity in community economic development and strengthening the economic fabric of communities through supporting the creation and growth of small businesses, individual wealth building, primarily through matched savings accounts, and community asset building.
