1 Lesson 4 – Series and parallel – plan

2 How do you think these differences affect the current and potential difference in these circuits?

3 Learning Objectives Keywords
Parallel circuit Series Circuit Current Potential Difference Describe what the difference is between a parallel and a series circuit Describe how A and V vary in both circuits

4 What do we know already? How Do you measure current?
What is the charge of a Proton, Electron, Neutron? How do we measure potential difference? Amp meter in Amps Positive, negative, and neutral Voltmeter in volts

5 Lets have a look at what we are doing to day

6 Please Answer What are the differences between series and parallel circuits? How does the current change between a series and a parallel circuit? How does the potential difference differ between a series and a parallel circuit? Can you explain your observations on current and potential difference?

7 This lesson I have learnt:
circuits can be in series or in parallel   in a series circuit, the current is the same everywhere   in a parallel circuit, the current in each branch is the same but add together to make the total current of the circuit.
