3. Objectives of FLEP Forest Land Enhancement Program To encourage landowners to actively manage their timber To enhance the productivity of timber, fish, wildlife habitat, soil and water quality, wetlands, and recreational resources

4. FLEP Covers 75% of the Cost to Plant Trees and Implement Management Practices in Woodlands and Windbreaks

5. Who is Eligible for the Program? Private landowners state-wide Landowners who own 40 contiguous acres or more

6. Landowners must have a management plan prepared by their local forester A service provided by the KFS

7. FLEP 2 Afforestation/Reforestation Tree planting for commercial timber production and other objectives such as wildlife habitat

8. FLEP 3 Forest Stand Improvement Thinning, release, pruning or protecting woodlands to increase tree growth

9. Alley Cropping FLEP 4 Agroforestry Tree planting for windbreak systems. Renovation of mature windbreaks

10. FLEP 5 Water Quality Improvement and Watershed Protection Tree planting adjacent to streams and rivers to improve water quality and protection of riparian areas
