OUR TOWN RYDUŁTOWY

Rydułtowy is a town located in the south of Poland, in the region called Silesia. The area is about 15 km2 and there are nearly 22 000 inhabitants.

Rydu ł towy is a mining town. There are lots of coal mines in Silesia. Our town is bound with "Rydu ł towy-Anna" coal mine which is over 200 years old.

The miners work very hard… Official miners’ uniform they wear on special occasions. Czako – an official miners’ hat.

SZARLOTA Nobody can imagine our town without a slag heap. Since 2007, it has been called „Szarlota”. It’s one of the highest slag heaps in Europe and it is 134 metres high.

Partially, it is covered with some plants. It is quite dangerous to walk there, but some people do as the view is wonderful.

The Library name Henryk Miko ł aj Górecki Henryk Mikołaj Górecki (1933- 2010) was a famous musician and a composer who lived in Rydułtowy.
