Is it okay to demand respect, if youre going to give it. Barriers are worse in anticipation than in reality. Accessible services are better services. Who are the normal people?

Equality – often seen as part of the law to be enforced. Equality of service - financial - service provision - outcomes Targets prevent equality of service by concentrating on single issues. Pro-active role in improving race relations. Language Culture Size of population Stereotyping

Demand management/Diversity delivers Language – equity – need to adapt – vs equality Respect – mutual /relationship Action, not words – How translate into doing Making difference normal – part of daily dialogue – part of culture
