5 RECOGNIZING THE NUMBERS
Audio recognition: Students in turn will draw numbers in a hat. If student can say it correctly, he/she wins the number. The winner is the one who pronounce the number correctly in French. Visual recognition: BINGO – LOTO

6 ECRIRE LES CHIFFRES Group the numbers in the same house of sound such as: 1. un / 5. cinq / 20. vingt 6. six / 10. dix 13. Treize / 16. seize 2. deux / 9.neuf / 19. dix-neuf 4. quatre / 14. quatorze Make the house of sounds of the numbers

7 ECRIRE LES CHIFFRES – Guided practice
Now you made of the house of sounds of the numbers, write down in French letters the numbers the teacher will tell you… Rule: Numbers are always masculine French Ex: un un, un deux, le trois, le quatre

Say in French: “1 + 1 = 2” Practice: 2+ 2 = 3+ 5 = 5+ 8 = 4+ 2 = 6+7 = Write in letters

12 CLOSING / EXIT Write down in your notebook “I have a crayon” in French
Write down in French in letters the following numbers: 10, 6, 1, 5, 8, 11, 13, 15, 20, 4. Game: one student will throw a ball to another one saying “attrappe” (= catch it). The other student which receives the ball, has to say “merci” (thank you), and start counting from 1 to 20. Mathématique: = ? , 3+2 = ?

13 GAMES Dead Chinese number” In China, “4” is written as “death”. So, people avoid to pronounce it. So, the game would be to count until 20 but avoiding to say numbers which contain a “4” in it. BET: Bet how many “baton” I have in my hat? Write down a number in French in your notebook. After that, let count together. Any winner? BINGO: numbers but written in letters
