2. The leaning tower of Pisa is one of the world wonders and it is a very interesting structure because it is unusually leaning. The Leaning Tower of Pisa was begun on 9 August 1173, and completed in 1373.

3. The Leaning tower of Pisa is in Pisa, Italy. The Leaning tower of Pisa is made out of white marble. (It is very old) It has 294 steps.

4. The Leaning Tower of Pisa wasn't supposed to lean at all. It was supposed to just be the bell tower for the Cathedral of Pisa. It was to hold the bells that rang to tell people when to come to church.

5. The tower weighs 14,500 tons It took 200 years to build. The leaning tower of Pisa is 55.86 meters tall. The tower leans about 3.99 degrees. It took so long because constant battles between the Pisans and Genoa, Lucca and Florence halted the tower's construction for around 100 years.

6. It was upright for five years upon completion of its initial construction - Having only two floors, no one was aware of any problem with the tower. Upon the addition of the third floor the tower began to lean, and the result was thousands of confused people and hundreds of years of quick-fixes.

7. Many people tried to fix the tower. One of them was Mussolini. He tried to fix the tower by putting cement to the base of the tower. But that did not work. Alessandro made the leaning tower worse by digging a walk – way around the base which led to flooding ditches.

8. The tower is located in the Square of miracles. The tower's tilt became more extreme over time, until it became a safety hazard and was closed in 1990. In 2008, the Leaning Tower of Pisa was stabilized and declared safe, and is expected to last another few hundred years.
