6 Explanation  The link above shows examples of technology that are becoming more evident in classrooms to aid students in learning with new literacies. The most popular one today is the flipped classroom. In a flipped classroom, students do the lectures online after school while class is used for teachers to answer questions and make sure everyone is understanding the material. This seems like an excellent teaching method because technology assists teachers to make better use of class time to ensure students understand the material. http://eofdreams.com/computer.html

7 Explanation (con)  Schools today are teaching technology skills, but not always in context. These new literacies are present in the classroom but some are not being taught. These technology skills are necessary today. Some schools are beginning to realize this and are focusing their curriculum on integrating lessons with technology in a meaningful way. Using the fundamental classroom skills, like writing, as a way to bridge the gap to creating a multimedia presentation is a great way that new literacies are being utilize in class. http://www.scholastic.com/browse/article.jsp?id=263

8 Explanation Continued  Media literacy is very important in the modern age. Our world is saturated with media and advertising, and learning about how such things work is an important life skill. Media literacy also includes making videos and other media of your own, which is not only fun, but can give you a new perspective on the creative process. Being able to communicate through different mediums helps improve your ability to relate to other people and get your ideas across more effectively.
