7. Our Clubs and District History Usually archival material is used a basis for writing a history Some clubs have archives (i.e. SA) Some clubs have written history (done from memory & records) Some clubs have “files” in different places & don’t know where they are

8. Simple Do’s & Don’ts Don’t keep everything! SELECT Take good care of the records Collect and document before it gets thrown away or the memory is gone.

11. Formal Archives for D 10 ?? Potential for District 10 to establish formal archival storage at the University of Houston. Material would be stored in proper archival condition and be accessible for review and copying by us and historical researchs.

Action: ORAL HISTORY 1.Identify some of your early club members and talk to them –even if no longer members. 2.We will provide a sample script for consistency 3.Digital/video record if possible 4.One idea – have younger members do the interviewing, Both will enjoy & learn! 5.
