The applicant, as an alternative to submitting applications in the usual manner in the concerned office, can submit the application to a CHO i CE Agent at a CHO i CE Centre along with requisite information and documents, fees and service charges. 2. The Agent keys the information given by the applicant and scans any supporting documents to convert these to electronic record. The electronic record so prepared includes a declaration from the applicant to the effect that the information therein, and the supporting documents thereto, are correct and genuine and, further, that in the event of the same being found incorrect or not genuine the applicant indemnifies the Agent and the Appropriate Authority taking a decision on their basis any liability. Print on paper of the information contained in the electronic record so prepared is taken in two copies and signatures of the applicant are obtained on these. The Agent authenticates the aforesaid electronic record (which has been given same validity as a paper document under Information Technology Act, 2000) by affixing her / his digital signatures and enters it into the prescribed computer resource in the prescribed manner. 3. The electronic acknowledgment confirming the entry of the electronic record duly authenticated by the digital signatures of the Agent into the prescribed computer resource bears an application reference number. A print on paper of the information contained in the acknowledgment along with one of the aforesaid two copies of the electronic record, duly authenticated by the signatures of the Agent, are furnished by the Agent to the applicant. The Appropriate Authority causes, in the prescribed manner, a print on paper to be taken of the information contained in the electronic record of the application entered into the prescribed computer resource (after verification of the digital signatures of the Agent) bearing the signatures of the person so doing in attestation of the fact of having so done. This print on paper forms part of the file (as with any other paper received) presented to the Appropriate Authority. 5. Appropriate Authority, after arriving at a decision after following ordinary procedure like inquiry, report etc., records only the final decision in the form of an electronic record through a computer. 6. In accordance with decision entered, the necessary certificate, license etc. appears in on the screen and Appropriate Authority authenticates the same by affixing her / his digital signatures and enters it into the prescribed computer resource in the prescribed manner. The Appropriate Authority then proceeds to take a print on paper of the document applied for, signs the same, and includes it in file. 3 7. The acknowledgement generated at the time of submitting the application contains the time limit for disposal of the application. With the help of the application reference number the applicant can enquire about the status of disposal of her / his application. In the event of her / his application being accepted, the applicant can obtain a print on paper of the electronic record of the desired document duly authenticated by the digital signatures of the Appropriate Authority and residing on the prescribed computer resource from any CHO i CE Agent in the prescribed manner. The Agent shall sign on the aforesaid print of paper of the desired document in attestation of the fact of she / he having verified the digital signatures of the Appropriate Authority and the print being a correct representation of the information contained in the electronic record.
