2 Itinerary 5:15amArrive MARKET BASKET. 5:30amDepart for New York. Breakfast stop enroute. 11:00amArrive in New York. Students will embark on a guided, walking tour that focuses on the many historical aspects of immigration in New York. Students will ride the ferry to Liberty Island where they will have a photo opportunity of the Statue of Liberty. Students travel to Ellis Island for tour. Following tour, ferry will be taken to Battery Park. 4:30pmBuses depart for home. Dinner stop enroute. 10:15pmEstimated arrival time at WMS.

3 Eligibility Requirements as of September 3 rd   Students with three office detentions and/or teacher sessions for discipline from this date forward, or any type of suspension from school will not be eligible. This determination will be made by the Middle School Administration**.   Students who have had chronic behavior problems and/or multiple suspensions this school year will not be eligible (please see page 59 of our Student/Parent Handbook).   Students must be passing the eighth grade.

4 Eligibility Requirements as of September 3 rd (continued)   From THIS DATE ABOVE, students who are absent more than seven (7) times, or tardy more than five (5) times, without a doctor’s note will not be eligible.

5 Payment Due Date September 16 th $120 Refund date: 50% refund by 9/25 th After 9/25 th : 50% w/doctor’s note only Please make check out to WMS and be sure to put the student’s full name on the memo line.

7   Trip cost covers all ticketed events and food money.   Food stipend is passed out before dinner to insure students don’t lose money.   Only money needed would be for souvenirs.

11 All requests are due in writing to Mrs. Simmons no later than Wednesday, September 16 th The following criteria will be considered when determining if partial assistance is available:  Written letter  Free or reduced lunch  Sudden or recent family hardship

13   Students are encouraged to have their cell phones on them at all times.   During our guided tour, cell phones are not to be turned on or displayed.

15   Use common sense!   Students may only have water on the bus.   No homemade snacks.   No “energy” drinks may be brought or purchased at lunch/dinner stops. Guidelines concerning snacks:

17 Field Trip Forms   Permission slip and Medical form (if nec.) returned to homeroom teacher with payment by WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 th   Doctor’s signature required for any medicines that are NOT CURRENTLY administered in school, ie. Motion sickness medication, etc.   Lunch orders must be entered on the WMS website by SEPTEMBER 16 th. Lunches can be ordered beginning Wednesday, September 9 th.

18   We are leaving from Market Basket. Know your bus and be there by 5:15am. Bus departs promptly at 5:30am.   En route we will serve donuts and juice. You may bring snacks, however, no homemade snacks. Students may only have water on the bus.   There will be NO picture taking on the bus as it can blind the driver. NO EXCEPTIONS! You will remain seated and facing forward at all times on the bus. You may not walk the aisles or kneel on the seats.   Please bring movies! Movies must not be rated higher than PG-13 and should be in good taste. Write you name on them and your bus number. Do’s and Don’ts

19   Bus lists will be posted the day before the trip in Mrs. Jackson’s, Mrs. Simmons’ and Mr. Robinson’s rooms.   Boys may wear hats, however, they may not be worn inside a building.   Please dress appropriately (dress code applies) and wear comfortable shoes for a lot of walking. We will be gone from early in the morning until later in the evening, RAIN OR SHINE, so a jacket or sweatshirt would be good to bring along.   You may bring a backpack FOR THE BUS ONLY. You cannot bring it onto the ferry. No “energy” drinks may be brought or purchased at dinner stop. Do’s and Don’ts
