The first five rows of the bus are reserved for parents and teachers. If you require medication then you must either carry your own or ride on Bus 2 bus so that you are transported with your med pack and the nurse. Grade 6 and 7 students ride bus 2. The nurse rides bus 2 with the med kit and first aid. Put your skis on the bus that you plan to ride. Do not leave them on the ground outside the bus for us to load. Carry your boots and backpack on to the bus and store them under the seat in front of you so they are not cold and wet when you arrive. Once you have put your skis on the bus get on, be sure the teacher has checked your name off and plan to stay on that bus until we reach the mountain.

When we arrive at the mountain… Triple “B”….. Backpack upstairs on the top floor of the lodge…. Bathroom…. Boots…. and then get your lift ticket and get in line to pick up your skis. Move right along because your ski group is waiting for you. Meet your instructor out in front of the lodge. A teacher will be there to tell you which group you will start with. Be prompt! Everyone is waiting for YOU! If you don’t feel well then you need meet our nurse in the upper lodge level and she will decide if you are ill or just have motion sickness. You will not be allowed to join your lesson late. Your instructors teach to the lowest individual in the group and they have instructions to change your level if you are not learning anything new.

Instructors are really enthusiastic!

After your lesson: Return to the lodge for lunch (remember where you put your skis). More about lunch later…. You must be in a group of at least 3 during “free ski” time. Level 1 students are with an instructor all day and your instructor will meet you at 12:30 in the lesson area by your sign.

Lets talk about Safety!! You must be in a group of at least three skiers. Weakest skier in the middle. If you start together then you must finish together. Don’t assume someone decided to go off on their own. Encourage others to join your group.

Lets talk about Safety!! Be careful where you stop….are you in a place that can be seen from above? Do not ski through the woods. NO JUMPING!

Could this be your table?

Eating Procedures….. Your lesson should last until 11:15. If it is much shorter please let me know. You may pack or buy a lunch. Remember this is still a school day. You may not drink any beverage that has caffeine while at the mountain. No Coke, Mountain Dew or any sport drink with caffeine. Please do not bring a peanut butter sandwich or peanut based candy with your lunch. If you are sitting with someone who mentions that they are allergic to what you are eating, please take their request seriously.

Eating Procedures….. If you have a food allergy do not come in and lay your clothing on the table. If that table has been contaminated you have not transferred that contamination on to your clothing. Sterile wipes will be in the med kit for students with food allergies to wipe the table before eating to avoid accidental food contamination. Once you have finished eating you must all clear the table by bussing your dishes. If you leave a messy table you will stay behind after the next lunch to clean.

Eating Procedures….. Throwing food is impolite and for those with allergies dangerous. If you throw food even once on the bus or are caught playing with food on your table you will not be allowed back on the bus for the next week. Don’t get carried away with the candy. Your sugar high makes you lose energy later.

Getting Home…. Return to the Chair 7 area at 2:30 Return your equipment and start loading the bus at 3:00pm You must ride home on the same bus that you rode up on. You may not ride to or from the area with a parent or friend. The bus leaves the mountain at 3:30 returning to school at 5:00 or 5:30 during inclement weather.
