Building plans must be driven by the strategic or academic plan for the institution. Revisit connections throughout planning and implementation. 3. It takes a campus community to build a good learning space.

Each plan (classroom improvement, library renovation, computing center, information commons) needs a shepherd who is a somewhat neutral party. 6. We should be building for generations to come, not for the needs of the current users of a space.
