2 Our city has just received $10,000 to build a monument in town square. The City Council members met last night to do some initial narrowing of the scope. They decided that the monument should be of a present or former President of the United States. They have asked the townspeople to research presidents and come to a conclusion as to who should be chosen. As a townsperson, you should choose one President to research and give reasons as to why that President should have a monument built in our town.

4 At the end of the allotted time, you will have created a brainstorming web, Venn Diagram, and persuasive project. You should be prepared to share these items with your teacher and classmates. Your progress with these items will be check periodically

5 An effective Brainstorming Web will display knowledge of the subject by using at least ten bubbles. Information will be accurate. An effective Venn Diagram will show at least eight ways, two presidents are a like and eight ways that they are different. An effective Persuasive Project will be neat, display creativity, include a variety of factual information, and defend the position that the selected president is the best choice for the city.

6 In conclusion, you will present your final product before the next “city council meeting” (your teacher and class.) When all projects have been displayed, the City Council will hold a town meeting where all townspeople will vote on the most well displayed case. TRY YOUR BEST!!
