2. 2 ACCESS for ELLs Teacher Report The audience for this report is teachers, administrators, and school teams. This report provides an individual student’s Raw Scores by English language proficiency standard. This report also provides Scale Scores and Proficiency Levels for each language domain of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing as well as composites for Oral Language, Comprehension, Literacy, and Overall Score. WIDA provides detailed information about the Teacher Report on pages 32-42 in the ACCESS for ELLs Interpretive Guide for Score Reports, Spring 2014, which is posted at www.wida.us. www.wida.us

3. 3 Raw scores indicate the actual number of correct responses. Raw scores are reported by English language proficiency standard. Raw scores are converted to Scale Scores. 4. 4 All ACCESS for ELLs tests (kindergarten through grade 12) are scored on a single vertical scale of 100-600. With the single vertical scale, scale scores across grades can be compared to one another within, but not across, a language domain (Listening, Speaking, Reading, or Writing). For example: An LEP student’s scores in the language domain of Reading from grades 4, 5, and 6 can be compared to determine the student’s progress. 9. 9 The Proficiency Level score is an interpretation of the scale score. The Proficiency Level score describes student performance in terms of the six WIDA English language proficiency levels: 1-Entering; 2-Emerging; 3-Developing; 4-Expanding; 5-Bridging; and 6-Reaching. Proficiency Level Scores

10. 10 The Proficiency Level score is presented as a whole number followed by a decimal: the whole number (1 through 6) indicates the student’s language proficiency level; and the decimal (.0 through.9) indicates the proportion within the proficiency level rounded to the nearest tenth.
