11 Maroondah 2040 Our Future Together Age friendly is on the agenda! The concept of age friendliness is now underpinned by 26 key directions embedded in the Maroondah 2040 Strategic Plan “I love the diverse demographic – young families, older families, older people, the sense of community

12 Examples of 2040 key directions Promote the value, expertise and contribution of mature aged workers and encourage intergenerational mentoring and skills-transfer Support all ages and population groups to be valued, connected, supported and empowered within their local community through the provision and coordination of accessible services, programming and facilities

13 Support community members to age in place, live in accessible neighbourhoods and remain socially connected Advocate and promote the provision of a diversity of affordable housing options to suit a range of lifestyle needs and life-stage requirements Establish a built environment that is child, youth and age friendly through strengthening the inclusiveness and accessibility of our local neighbourhoods and activity centres
