Embedded Assessment 2

Graphic Novel 6-8 scenes/panels –The following 6 steps in the hero’s journey must be used. The Call to Adventure Refusal of the Call The Beginning of the Adventure The Road of Trials The Experience with Unconditional Love The Ultimate Boon

Graphic Novel You must use a variety of framing, angle and lighting techniques. Each scene/panel must contain a dialogue box or thought bubble. Each scene/panel must contain text evidence that reflect the stage in the journey.

How to turn in your Graphic Novel If you are creating your graphic novel in ToonDoo: –You will create your ToonDoo one at a time. Do not choose the three boxes or the two boxes. –You will save each Toon and then add it to a WORD document. –Each Toon should cover a whole sheet of paper on word. –You will need to change the paper to landscape. Go to file/page setup/click on landscape –When you are finished, upload it to netschool. –You will upload your reflection in a different space, so DO NOT attach it to your ToonDoo.

Reflection This should be no more than a page and a half. First – you will write about how Jonas’s journey connects to the archetypal journey of a hero. Second – reflect on the color, detail, framing, lighting and angles you used. Third – explain how your choices of illustration reflect Jonas as an archetypal hero.

How to turn in your Reflection You will type your reflection and submit it to netschool, separate from your graphic novel.
