2 Pacific Ocean This is the largest and deepest ocean in the world. This ocean has the deepest known depth called Challenger Deep in the Marianas Trench. This ocean’s name means peaceful.

3 Atlantic Ocean This is the 2 nd largest ocean in the world. This has a deep point called Milwaukee Deep near Puerto Rico.

4 Gulf of Mexico This is on the southeast coast of the United States and its deepest part is called Sigsbee Deep.

5 Great Lakes The largest body of FRESH water in the world. Huron, Ontario, Erie, Superior, and Michigan (HOMES) H=Huron O=Ontario M=Michigan E=Erie S=Superior

6 Great Salt Lake Largest body of saltwater in the United States. + = Great Salt Lake

7 Chesapeake Bay Popular area for early settlement, explored by John Smith in 1808, that empties into the Atlantic Ocean
