1 1.Unpack and make sure you have your supplies ready(notebook, binder, pencils) 2.Put the literary essay which is on your desk - in your binder. 3.Read the poem on the chart, go back to your desk and write a two line stanza-using the format on the poem. 4.Read quietly or write quietly at your desk.

2 Unpack and make sure you have your supplies ready(notebook, binder, pencils) Hand in any homework. Do Now: You will be assigned a page from the Asia book. On your card, write down two facts from the page and one “false fact or opinion”. We will be sharing them at Morning Meeting.

3 Remember, you can if you think you can. How many times have you said, “I can’t do it!”? Make a list of as many things that you can think of that you can do. For example, I can make friends easily. I can read books about _________________. I can write stories. I can solve math problems. I can hit the ball and make a home run. I can pitch. I can get a goal. I can play the piano. I can sing in the chorus. I can play an instrument.” Next, make a list of things that you “think you can’t do and want to be able to do”. Next to each of them, think of one way that you can begin to meet this goal.

Make a list of at least eight questions that you have. For example, my questions are: Why do people park in handicapped spots? What happens to balloons after they float into space? Why do people think that a symbol for teachers is an apple?
