2 Some history Tempus operational in Kazakhstan since 1995. National Tempus Office set up as a separate unit in June 2005.

6 Principal Tasks of NTO Providing information support and consultancy on participation in the activities of the Tempus programme; Assisting Kazakh universities in seeking and establishing contacts with potential partners to set up project consortia; Monitoring of on-going projects; Preparing and providing information on the developments in the field of higher education, its strategic priorities for stakeholders; Supporting partnership and sharing experience between ongoing Tempus projects, dissemination of information;

7 Statistics During 1995-2011 59 projects financed, (23 national, 36 regional,) 44 JEP/JP, 15 SCM/SM) Amount allocated by EC – 37 454 mln. in 1995-99 - 6.266 mln. in 2000-06 - 5.550 mln. in 2007-2011 - 25 638 mln. At present - 25 ongoing Tempus projects. For Call 5 for CA – 9,5 mln.
