3 Famous Actors There are many great actors in film and on stage. Some of the most famous stage actors are: Alfie Boe Samantha Barks Ben Elton Donny Osmond

4 William Shakespeare!!! To be or not to be? That is the question

5 Types of theatre. There are many different types of theatre, such as: Musical Theatre and Physical Theatre. There are also different theatre styles such as: Pantomimes, Ballets and Operas. A Pantomime is a festive piece of drama normally done in winter. They are done all around Britain. Most of the time they are based on books such as: Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin and many more.

6 Musical Theatre Here is an example of musical theatre. (Master of the house from Les Miserables). This is Martin Ball playing the part of Thenardier the Innkeeper in the musical Les Miserables. The famous musical is set whilst the French revolution is happening and Thenardier is the Innkeeper of a seriously dodgy inn.

7 Physical Theatre Physical Theatre is where instead of using your voice you use body language, facial expression and props. Here is example from the Musical, Stomp!!!

8 Acting When acting there are many bad habits that you may pick up when acting. One of the main ones is corpsing, (there is a slide on this further on). Another one is when speaking people don’t project for example talking on a stage is a huge difference to talking in a small room.

9 Corpsing Corpsing is a bad habit which you can pick up when doing group work. Corpsing is where you come out of your character, for example when somebody says something funny and you laugh. That is corpsing as you have come out of your character. However if your character is supposed to laugh then its not corpsing.

10 Projection When acting you have to project your voice as speaking in a small room is a complete difference to speaking on a stage. For example when speaking to a small audience it is easier for the audience to hear whereas when on a stage you must project so the audience can hear you!!

11 Behind the Stage There are normally people behind the stage which prepare the props and help direct the actors/actress’ to the stage. All the props are stored behind the stage apart from the ones on set.

12 Props This is a musical that focuses on props alone. It uses some speech and music however it is a musical using props. Its called stomp.
