1 BREAKING THE CYCLE: ARGUMENT ESSAY REMINDERS 1) Look at ARGUMENT WRITING RUBRIC in the monster packet. 2) Look at BREAKING THE CYCLE ESSAY RUBRIC in your outline packet. 3) WRITE an introduction and conclusion according to your BREAK THE CYCLE ESSAY OUTLINE. 4) REVISE your BODY PARAGRAPH 1 & 2 based on class comments. 5) CREATE a WORKS CITED. 2 BODY PARAGRAPH 1 & 2: CLASS COMMENTS 1)Follow OUTLINE steps. Make sure to read the hints the outline provides. 2)Correct MLA format for Fahrenheit 451. Only put (Bradbury #) for the first citation. The second citation can just be (#). 3) Correct MLA format for Real-Life People examples: knightcite.edu. For electronic and Internet sources, follow the following guidelines: Include in the text the first item that appears in the Work Cited entry that corresponds to the citation (e.g. author name, article name, website name, film name). You do not need to give paragraph numbers or page numbers based on your Web browser’s print preview function. Unless you must list the Web site name in the signal phrase in order to get the reader to the appropriate entry, do not include URLs in- text. Only provide partial URLs such as when the name of the site includes, for example, a domain name, like CNN.com or Forbes.com.

3 Works Cited * A complete list of every source that you make reference to in your essay * Provides the information necessary for a reader to locate and retrieve any sources cited in your essay * Each entry includes this basic information: – Author’s name – Title of work – Publication information: Source of work, date published, volume and issue numbers, and page numbers Quick Tip: All sources cited in the paper must be listed on the Works Cited page. All sources listed on the Works Cited page must have been cited in the paper itself.

4 Works Cited * Center the words Works Cited at the top – no quotes, italics, or underline * Pagination continues from your previous paper * Arrange sources alphabetically with the first letter of the entry – Do NOT number your sources * Each Entry Begins with a Hanging Indent (Control + T) * Each Individual Entry Is Double Spaced * Within the entry * Between entries * Do not put extra spaces in-between each entries
