Since its inception, this institute is actively involved in various activities towards training, research, material development and academic resource support at elementary level of education. 3 3 In-Service To make the teaching learning effective and outcome oriented the teachers need to be continuously updated with the latest development, In-service training provides the opportunity for the stake holders for their professional developments to ensure quality in education.

8 8  Pre-Service Teacher Education The PSTE Unit of the Institute has been continuously in effort to produce quality teachers to meet the educational needs and demands at elementary level The Institute feels great pride in stating that the alumni's of this institute have added bright colours in serving the nation. With the increasing demands for the teachers the intake in ETE course was increased from 100 to 150 in the year 2004.

17 17  Faculty contributed as member of writing team member text book in the subject of English (Dr.Meena Sehrawat), Science(Dr.M.M.Roy) and Geography (Dr.R.K.Srivastav) for different classes at Elementary level published by SCERT – DBT.  Faculty was involved in developing the Inclusive developing the Inclusive Education (ILFE) Tool Kit and Course Design for the Training of Teachers with “ Save the Children” NGO. 21 21 research continued….  “ A study of Subject-wise Achievement of class V Students of Govt. Schools in District (SW),

22 22 Innovations & Interventions  Bridge Course (2000-2001) :A collaborative programme of DOE, SCERT, DIET’s and NGO’s. DIET Ghumenhera co-ordinated the programme and provided academic and practical support in Six Govt. Sr.,Secondary schools of District South West. For class vi students who passed out from class V.  State house hold survey in 2003 regarding SSA.

23 23  A Lab Area Survey of Rewla Khanpur (Village Prem Nagar) a red light area near Najafgarh in 2000: DIET Ghumanhera conducted a survey in the village and it was found that the area is educationally as well as socio economically backward. There is a great scope of literacy, Health awareness and vocational training. The Institute organized learning centers and health awareness campaign.
