CFU Students, what kind of letter did you use at the beginning of your name? (pair-share) When we write our names, we use an uppercase, or capital, letter. We also use capital letters when we write other important words. All of the important words we capitalize are called proper nouns. Today, we will capitalize proper nouns. 1. Examples: Aa, Bb, Cc A noun names a person, a place, or a thing. Examples: sister, school, bell A proper noun is the specific 1 name of a person, place, or thing. Rule: Proper nouns are always capitalized.
