Learning Program The Learning Program is the curriculum as a whole. As a curriculum plan, it involves a “blended approach” towards the professional development of teachers. It will include both computer- AND instructor-facilitated instruction in classroom and self-directed environments. The components of the learning program include: Learning modules Classroom instruction Computer-based learning application Accreditation Goal: To develop an ongoing level of professional competency in practicing teachers (?).

Learning Modules Classroom Management Special Needs Education Child Development Literature in the Classroom Other… Learning Modules make up the structure of the learning program. They are the courses the learner will complete toward accreditation. Such subjects as Classroom Management, Special Needs Education, and so on can be selected by the learner. When selected, the learner may attend workshops, lectures, or computer-based learning to complete their learning program. Learning Modules may include such courses (or subjects) as: Curriculum Development Literacy Instruction Teaching of Writing Teaching of Reading Mathematics for older students Social Studies Education How to foster effective studying Educational Policy

Selected Module Event #1 Event #2 Event #3 Once a Selected Module is chosen by the learner, they can then explore 3 events (?). The events illustrate scenarios from teaching that relate to the theme of the learning module. The learner must solve the problem or question that is introduced in the event. The actual events can be shown in different modes such as video, audio, case method, and so on. This step is closely tied to the next. After observing the event, the learner then engages in the critical events legacy cycle.

Meet Event Generate Ideas Take Action Publish Real Time Critical Events Legacy The Critical Events Legacy cycle is engaged once the learner selects a learning module and views the event. The critical events legacy cycle is the process through which learners undertake the learning of content through various assessment and evaluation activities. The Critical Events Legacy stages: 1.Meet Event Select from a number of learning module-related events and view challenge (or question) 2.Generate Ideas Generate initial strategies to solve challenge by observing multiple perspectives and reading resources and other information 3.Take Action The learner is given a second chance to strategically solve the challenge using additional multiple perspectives and resources 4.Publish Submit final solution 5.Real Time Evaluation Assessment of the learner is conducted through instructor- and computer- facilitated interactions

Accreditation Certification Mastery The completion of the learning program is designated through accreditation. Learners may receive a certificate, credits, or work toward a professional degree through the completion of the learning program. In order to complete the learning program, learners must participate and be evaluated on all (or most) of the learning modules. The accreditation process can be granted through institutions of higher learning, professional development programs, or other educational organizations.
