16 PROVIDED BY THE IDAHO STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Graduation Rate Appeals SY1415 Appeals window: TBD Students who can be adjusted out Transfers: Out of school/district/state – Public or Private A request for student records from the receiving school Written record of a response from an official in the receiving school Enrollment Verification: Program/school acknowledging the student’s enrollment with enrollment date Homeschool A letter of withdrawal stating the intent to homeschool – signed by the parent/guardian School withdrawal form with withdrawal reason “to homeschool” – only accepted if signed by parent/guardian Other written confirmation from the parent/guardian “Withdrawal to Homeschool” form – signed by parent Student that emigrate to another country

18 PROVIDED BY THE IDAHO STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Graduation Rate Appeals Students who can be adjusted out (continued) Immigrant Copy of student birth certificate verifying country of origin Copy of student passport or VISA Death Official written documentation of a student’s death, such as a death certificate, is not necessary Obituary: Online obituary is acceptable Letter from parent Summer Graduate Idaho chose the option to include summer school graduates in the ACGR; these students’ graduation date must be before fall semester 2015 Copy of official transcript Copy of a diploma

19 PROVIDED BY THE IDAHO STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Graduation Rate Appeals Ineligible Appeals: Students who cannot be appealed Students who graduate with a GED now count as non-graduates with their adjusted cohort, instead of being removed from the equation altogether. Students who graduate at a date beyond their cohort are now counted as non-graduates with their adjusted cohort, instead of being removed from the equation until they graduate. Students who are in a special education program and graduate under adapted guidelines are now counted as non-graduates with their cohort. Students who qualify for services until age 21 are counted as a non- graduate These students may be counted in an extended graduation rate if they graduate as a regular graduate or through an alternate route to graduate
