NEWS!!!! Since April 2012 : Ms Frédérique VIDAL became President of UNS Since June 2012: Mr Eric NASICA is Director of ISEM Since June 2012: Mr Stéphane NGOMAI is Vice-President « Strategy and development of UNS » Since June 2012: Mr Jean-Christophe MARTIN is Vice-President « International relations» We have new agreements since september 2012: New title: the programs is called Long distance learning program in economics and management; but still the same diploma as before. Each succeded L3 student will receive an attestation with « Licence Economie gestion parcours international » We changed our curricula and we give now 30 credits for each year.

HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?  In the framework of « Long distance learning program », ISEM provides a undergraduate program in Economics and management.  Main lectures of the bachelor program of UNS are provided in french language by professors from the partner university. Then exams will be organized in the partner university and credits will be allowed.  The other part of credits is allowed by the partner university according to the curricula. Partner university should provide to UNS all the results of the students enrolled in the program.

PROCESS  Student’s inscription: thank you to fill in on computer the registration form for each student and send them to us with the list of students on excel tab by email.  Tuition fee: tuition fees must be paid for each academic year. That means that even though a student fails and has to repeat an academic year the student must pay again the tuition fees. Two payment facilities: -University partner pays directly all tuition fees for all student; payment must be done after receiving a bill from UNS -Each student pay for his own tuition fees by bank transfert; payment must be done after receiving an attestation for payment. ATTENTION!!!!!! Bank fees for bank transfert must be paid by the foreign university or by the student!!!  When tuition fees payment is done by the foreign university, student’s cards can be delivered before the payment.  When tuition fees payment is done by students student’s cards are delivered after receiving the payment on UNS bank account.

PROCESS (to be continued)  Exam’s organization: Copies’s exams must be anonymous. Exam’s material is provided by UNS professors. Partner foreign university must send to UNS the precise dates when exams will be organized. Exam’s material is sent by ISEM to the partner university.  Copies and results : Partner university must send all copies by post (as DHL) to ISEM (Virginie Oddo – bureau 256). A exemplar of exam’s material and list of present students must also be sent to ISEM. Once copies checked by UNS professors, ISEM sends results to the partner.

FRENCH LANGUAGE LEVEL  L1: it would be better if students would enroll in the program with a B1 level as minimum.  L3: students must have a B2 certificate before their inscription in L3

EXAM’S ORGANIZATION  Study plan: each university must send to ISEM the study plan for the whole 3 years of study at the beginning of each academic year (see template).  This study paln helps us to planify and better organize exams in December, June and September.  It would be better if in each partner university exam would be invigilated by some french representant (french ambassy, or french alliance, french cultural center,…). It is up to each partner to try to find some french representant and establish some partnership.  If no french representant can be found so UNS representant should invigilate exams.  It is very important to respect the exam organization’s process ATTENTION!!!! At the end of each exam, all exam material must be kept by the partner university, not by the students  Three exam’s period: 1st period : from 14/01/13 to 25/01/13 2 nd period: from 20/05/13 to 31/05/13 Session de rattrapage: from 09/09/13 to 20/09/13

RESULTS  At the end of the 2 nd exam period (in july), UNS provides results.  A student passes exams when he obtained a global mark (moyenne) upper or equal than 10/20.  A student failed exams when he obtained a global mark (moyenne) lower than 10/20.  For the students who failed their exams (Ajournés) a second chance is given in september (session de rattrapage). The student must take in september all the exams for which he received a mark lower than 10/20.  After the september period exam the final results are sent to the partner university.  Students who passed exam can register for the next academic level; students who failed can register in the same academic level.  We use an informatic system called Apogée to capture the results.  At the end of L3 we provide for students who passed their exam an « attestation de réussite ». To provide this attestation we need: french certificate B2 and student’s results from his home university.

RESULTS (to be continued) Very important : 1/ Students who failed their exams must take in september all the exams for which he received a mark lower than 10/20; if he does not take some exam during the september exam period he will received a 0/20 mark for each exam he did not take. 2/ Only the marks obtained in september is then kept to calculate the final results. 3/ For L3 we provide « attestation de réussite »; it is an official attestation stamped and signed; the

STUDENT MOBILITY  Kind of mobility: Mobility can be done in Licence 2 and Licence 3 Students can follow one semester or full year in Nice  Criteria required: B2 certificate in french language. Student must have passed his L1 (if he wants to come for L2) or L2 (if he wants to come for L3) exams Student who wants to start his mobility in september (for one semester or for full year).  Studies during the mobility For a semester mobility: students have to follow lectures and workshops but they will take the exams program in their home university. For a whole year mobility: students have to follow lectures and workshops and also take exams in Nice as all others french students.

STUDENT MOBILITY IMPORTANT !!! For a whole year mobility, student must stay in Nice till middle of july. During their mobility, students must learn french language at the languages Center; 2 hours per week and also 10 hours of specific workshops.

TOOLS  Jalon  Virtual Desk: pedagogical materials.  On line library: Numilog  Visio conferences

Summer school July 2013!! Extensive french language Lectures in Economics, Law, Management, Political sciences Possibility to take the TCF french certificate (TCF)

FORESEEN  2012/2013 : we have less students!!! Less students means less budget so we have to develop others tools to communicate as: visio conference, web conference, skype,….  Main Target for this year: How to get more students?? How to promote the program? What kind of promotion would be more effective?? (newsletter, facebook,….)  How to attract students??  How to develop links with the private society? Maybe finding some private sponsor?
