16 CT Department of Administrative Services Division of Construction Services Added Comments - DCS initiatives LEAN DCS is reviewing our internal processes and working to streamline our procedures. The initial effort is focused on our “ Design Bid Build ” process for projects in the $2.0 Million to $10.0 Million range. We will take steps to accelerate the selection and contract process. Project Schedules & Time Management DCS is working with our staff and vendors to improve the project planning and scheduling for the full duration of the project. The DCS time duration from QBS Selection to Design NTP has been reduced by 6 plus weeks. Agency Administrated Projects (and smaller Task Letter design assignments) DCS authorizes the User Agencies to undertake their smaller projects, i.e., those projects under $500,000 with minimum DCS involvement. The administrative oversight for this work has been moved to the DCS Client Team and DCS has taken administrative steps to more promptly authorize these small projects and any related On Call, Task Letter type design efforts. This work is now moving more rapidly.
