4 Hyperbole Using exaggeration to make a point. My grandmother is older than the hills.

5 Onomatopeia Sound word. The deer splashed through the creek.

6 Alliteration Repetition of beginning sounds. The frog flopped in the forest.

7 Personification Giving human qualities to something not human. The spider web danced in the breeze.

8 Idiom A well known expression that does not mean what it says. She’s going to get a taste of her own medicine.
