10 Conclusions  The EU cohesion policy results in social benefits for peripheral settings in Sweden and in the other 27 member nations  The SESPA project exemplify the necessity of structural funding for regional adaption to structural change and stimulate regional renewal processes  The Swedish implementation model create knowledge transfer opportunities between partners within, between and outside the member nations  University, Public, Private, Civil sector cooperation vital for societal change (contextual models)  The structural changes implemented may revitalize regional adaptation in the region where SESPA operates
