25 Neutrons Sub-atomic particle that has NO CHARGE. Neutral. Very similar in mass to protons; slightly larger Found in the nucleus

27 Isotopes = atoms of the same element that have the same number of protons but different number of neutrons

29 Mass Number =the sum of the PROTONS and NEUTRONS in the nucleus of an atom Example: What is the mass number of a nitrogen atom with 8 neutrons? Answer: 15 MASS NUMBER = Atomic number + # of neutrons

30 Atomic Mass The average mass of all the isotopes for a particular element. always a decimal 6 C 12.011
